|Tanya Dias grew up in Goa and was granted a merit scholarship by London School of Economics and Political Science, where she completed her MSc in Sociology. As a teenager, she was awarded the prestigious National Balshree Award in Creative Writing, presented by the then President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
